FAQ

48.7

Remember the mileage of the Greenway Trail is measured from the SUMMIT of Mt. Monadnock to the SUMMIT of Mt. Sunapee, currently at 48.7 miles.

This DOESN’T include the 2+ miles of hiking up or down these two summits. So really, your hike will be about 53 miles overall.

Best Route up or down Mount Sunapee

We recommend taking the Summit Trail (also the SRK Trail) (2.1 miles). This trail leaves out of the Mount Sunapee Resort/Ski area parking lot.

(Note- the Goshen Trail is a less traveled trail off Mt Sunapee and somewhat overgrown)

Best Route to Lucia’s Lookout from Pillsbury State Park

We recommend taking the Bear Pond Trail to the Greenway Trail north to Lucia’s Lookout.

(Note- the Five Summers Trail tends to get very overgrown with tall grass in the summer)

Typically yes, but call them before and check, 603-763-3541.

Is there any type of shuttle/taxi service for through hikers to use?

Currently no, sorry.

Water sources on the Greenway?

If it’s one thing the Greenway lacks is reliable water. Any water used on the trail should be treated! We recommend stashing your bottled water along the trail, at campsites, road crossings, etc. before you set out on your hike.

Can we have campfire at campsites?

Absolutely not. Please respect the land owners on this issue.

Pack out what you pack in. Enjoy the trail.
